Skatewave Landscape Structures

Landscape Structures committment to sustainability

At Skatewave® by Landscape Structures, sustainability is a way of life. And we take our role as an environmental steward seriously. We believe it's much more than following the trend of "going green." Anybody can do that. We are committed to healthy, sustainable communities and we have programs, people and processes in place that make it happen.  At Skatewave, we are constantly improving our processes and products, and will continue to do so.

We demonstrate our sustainability commitment in many ways. One is our kaizen, or lean manufacturing culture. That means that continuous improvement is in our DNA, and we live it every business day. We also are ISO 14001:2004 certified for consistent and continuous environmental stewardship. In fact, we were the first North American playground and skatepark manufacturer to be ISO 14000 certified. We are constantly looking for ways to reduce our impact on the earth; learn how we do so with our Skatewave materials.

As part of our commitment to sustainable communities, we have partnered with Global ReLeaf®, a program of American Forests, to plant trees around the globe to offset the carbon produced in the manufacturing of our Skatewave skateparks and Landscape Structures playstructures.  A donation will be made with every skatepark and playground sale in 2008 to purchase enough trees to offset the carbon dioxide produced while manufacturing that specific skatepark or playground. An educational skatepark or playground sign is available for purchase that explains the environmental benefits of the partnership between Skatewave/Landscape Structures and Global ReLeaf.
